Program Overview
This program provides the school nurse with an overview of the Massachusetts mandated growth screening protocol.
Program Objectives
Upon completion of this program the school nurse will be prepared to:
- Discuss Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 71: Section 57 and MDPH regulations 200.500 as they relate to comprehensive growth screenings
- Identify and utilize the approved state growth screening protocols
- Identify resources available to assist with developing comprehensive growth screening programs.

Continuing Education Information Northeastern University School Health Institute provides this continuing education program in accordance with the requirements of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing 244 CMR 5.00 the continuing education program "consists of a planned, organized learning experience designed to augment the knowledge, skills, attitudes for the enhancement of nursing practice, to the end of improving health care to the public". Nurses successfully participating in this program will receive a statement of credit for 1 contact hour. Statements of Credit may be printed on-line after successful completion of the learning assessment.
